Jack is 5! I can't even believe how fast it's gone by. He's such a sweet and happy boy who loves life! He's a HUGE blessing to our family. Happy Birthday Jackman!

So for his actual birthday he want to go four wheeling. Before we went he got to go down to the Motorsports store and pick out a new helmet and chest protector..he was very excited! We also went to the park, got ice cream, and then went over to my parents and jump on their trampoline..it was a day of his favorites.

On Sunday we had all the family over for a BBQ. Here's Jack blowing out his candles.

On Saturday Jack had a few of his friends over for a little party. We went to the big slides and then out for icecream. Here's the kids with their candy from the pinata..I'd love to show an action shot but it broke after two hits..they don't make 'em like they use to!

We've gotten a ton of snow this winter but have had such cold weather we couldn't really enjoy it..finally last weekend it was nice enough to go sledding. It was great to be outside!

Jack has finally found his love..gymnastics! After his first time going he told me he wished he could do it a 100 hours. It's the only sport he's done so far that I haven't had to bribe him with treats to finish. It shouldn't surprise me since he's always on his head or doing a flip somewhere. Little cutie!

We went to the local beach for the first time this week and it was great! The kids had a lot of fun and it was a beautiful day.

Sweet round and adorable Lucy is 11 weeks today. I can't believe it..time goes by way to fast. She's just adorable so I wanted to share some pics.

She is so sweet. She gives lots of smiles and is staring to talk and make all sorts of adorable baby sounds.

My sister Meagan had her baby today! We are so excited to have Kaitlyn Ashley here. She was born with her eyes wide open and ready for an adventure! She weighs 5 lbs 13 oz, a tiny little princess. This is Lucy with her new cousin.

My sister and I took the kids to the park with the HUGE slides and they had the best time. The boys couldn't get enough of the slides! The girls didn't love them. Ellie went down twice and both times flew off at the bottom, I think it was because she's so light. But she was done after that. I took Olivia down a few times and you'll see her reaction in a following picture.

Olivia had conflicting feelings...she'd almost cry everytime..and you can tell by her expression that it's a little scary for her but as soon as she'd get done she'd want to go again. It was pretty funny.

Lucy Addison was born February 19 2009 at 12:53pm. She weighed 7 lbs and 1 oz and was 19 inches long. At first I thought she looked like Olivia but as the days go by she has her own look, her coloring is light. Brett says it's wishful thinking but I think there's a tint of red in her hair.

Boat racing

We went over to Grandma Jody's house tonight and had boat races. The kids put their boats together and decorated them and then raced them. They loved it! This first one is of Jack racing his Uncle Todd.

He won and was SO excited!

Frosty, Grandpa and the boys

We had the perfect snowman making afternoon. The snow was soft and it was actually nice outside..for about 2 hours. Then a cold front came through with 50 miles per hour winds and temps below freezing. Luckily we got out when we did, Frosty blew over about an hour after building him. Good ole Iowa winters!

Christmas Eve

Our Christmas Eve started off with some sledding. It was so much fun because there was a sheet of ice over the snow. Ethan and Brett went forever and had to make themselves crash so they wouldn't wreck into a gate. Ethan loved it!

Olivia and Jack don't like the cold at all, so they spent their time in the pick up car.

Every year we redo the Nativity Story. Jack is a shepard and the only way his Grandma could convince him to wear his outfit was to tell him that he killed the animal he was wearing. Liberty, my niece, was playing Mary and when she tried to put baby Jesus in the cradle Olivia freaked out and kept trying to take the baby out. It was pretty funny. Ethan is a king and did a fabulous job.

We went on Thursday to see Santa and tell him EXACTLY what we wanted for Christmas. The boys thought it was great and are very confident that they will get everything on their list because they told Santa and because they have been good this year. Olivia wasn't so sure about it..she never really cried but was just completely freaked out. After I took Olivia out of the picture Santa grabbed Ethan and put him on his lap and was VERY surprised at just how heavy he was. It went a little bit like this, "Ho ho HOOOO, wow you are a big boy." (Ethan is super solid.) Afterwards we went over to grandmas and watched the Grinch, a Christmas favorite. I love this time of year!

Every year we hand out dead dogs and witches brew (hot dogs and cocoa) to my neighbors and the parents. Since it was so nice this year everyone was able to sit around the fire all night. It was great.

We went to Brett's cousins wedding this weekend. It was a good time. I discovered that Ethan is even more like his dad than I thought..he does NOT like to dance. So Jack, Olivia, and I hit the dance floor. They've got some sweet moves..I guess they are more like me than I thought. =)

My mother-in-law has a big pumpkin patch and it's tradition that every year the kids go out and pick out their very own pumpkin. This year Jack decided that he needed about 5. The boys thought it was pretty great. Which is a surprise because the last time that we went a goat grabbed Jack by his hood and wouldn't let go. I thought it was pretty funny but Jack apparently Jack didn't.
